Today's Workout:
It's my first day of blogging about my journey to the Marine Corps Marathon and of course, it's the hottest day of the Summer. But, I absolutely refused to let my first run for my blog be a treadmill one, so out I went along with my 2 crazy running partners. We met up at the local high school to run the Martha's Run course. It's a notoriously tough 10K course and I had 5 hilly miles on my schedule so we agreed that we would either cut it short or walk a portion of it. We cut down on Beadling and then did an out and back on Cedar to finish it up. I was a sweaty mess at the end. As soon as my GPS hit 5 miles, I decided to walk rather than continue the madness. My two friends actually continued to run but I was just done at that point. I took that opportunity to drink my Gatorade/water mix and to think about what I just accomplished.
I feel so lucky to have these two women in my life. The three of us did a long run when it was 4° (yes that is FOUR degrees) about a year and a half ago and here we were tonight, running in temps that were in the 90's. Yes, we are crazy runners indeed. And I am so blessed to have friends who are just as crazy as me...
For the record, I also did two On Demand workouts at home: 6 pack Ab Burn and Ab Flat Blaster.
You are kicking my butt in the responsible eating and daily physical activity categories. I have to up my game!!
